SUBJECT: New protocols for entering Abu Dhabi

Dear Passenger,

Thank you for choosing to travel through Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis And Disaster Committee for the COVID-19 Pandemic have outlined new quarantine guidelines for international arrivals entering the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Ahead of travelling into Abu Dhabi International Airport, please ensure you are familiar with the below steps that you will need to follow:

  • On your arrival into Abu Dhabi, medical authorities will conduct a PCR test, after you have disembarked from your flight.
  • Following the PCR test, you will then need to register under the quarantine system. You will be provided with an electronic wristband, which you will need to wear throughout the two-week quarantine period.
  • The health authorities will evaluate the most appropriate location for your quarantine. This may be your home, a hotel, or accommodation provided by medical authorities.
  • 12 days after your arrival into Abu Dhabi, you will need to conduct a second PCR test.
  • Should you receive a negative result, 14 days after your arrival into Abu Dhabi, the electronic wristband will be removed by medical authorities, and you can finish your quarantine period.

These measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of all living in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. We urge you to closely adhere to these procedures. Violating them will result in penalties and fines issued by the government of Abu Dhabi.

You will need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout your time at Abu Dhabi International Airport, consisting of a face-mask and disposable hand gloves. You will also need to adhere to social distancing measures throughout our facilities.

In addition, ensure you have downloaded the AL HOSN application on your smart device, which is available through the App Store for iOS devices (iPhones) or the Google Play Store for Android devices.

Please ensure that you are familiar and have complied with all requisite protocols to ensure that your trip through Abu Dhabi International Airport is smooth and convenient.

For more information, please visit the websites of SEHA and NCEMA.

Travellers bear full responsibility for ensuring they comply with the requirements for their travel and neither the airport nor airline can be held responsible for any issues associated with non-compliance.

Regards,

Abu Dhabi International Airport

Transit

Transit guide

We do not let you get bored if you are in transit. Here is how you can plan you spare time at the airport.

  • Make sure you know which terminal your next flight is departing from. If you need to move between two terminals, read about International Connections.
  • Double check the amount of time you have until your next flight departs - see Departure Information for updates on your flight status, including delays.
  • If you have more than four hours, you may want to consider leaving the airport and exploring some of Abu Dhabi’s famous tourist attractions.
  • If you have less than four hours, there is still a lot you can do. Catch up on sleep, shop til you drop, indulge in a leisurely meal or unwind in one of our airport lounges.
