Remember that any of the following constitute as LAGs:

• Drinks, including water
• Soups and sauces
• Creams, balms, lotions and oils
• Toothpaste
• Shampoo, conditioner and shower gels
• Perfumes and deodorants
• Mascara and lip gloss
• Shaving Foam and hairspray
• Contact lens solution, etc.

Exceptions are made for medications and special food (e.g., baby food and diet foods) that you may need during the flight. These articles may be carried outside the resealable plastic bag (see Luggage Regulations), but they must be separately inspected at the security check. In cases of doubt, our security staff may require you to prove that you require these products during the flight.

Any duty free items you buy that constitute as Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs) will be put in a specially sealed bag upon purchase by airport Duty Free staff and can be carried on board as long as the seal has not been tampered with or broken. The same applies for Duty Free items bought on board your flight. It’s important that you ask duty free staff about regulations and allowances relating to your duty free purchases, especially if you have an onward connecting flight from your next airport.

Electronic goods are generally permitted although it is best to check with your airline regarding their specific regulations relating to their use in flight.

You need to contact the lost and found number provided to you on the form +971 (0) 2 599 8484/6, and provide them with the number of the bag tag.

You have to return it back to AUH. Please see the baggage counter location on this map to process the formalities.

There are various pharmacies at each of the three airport terminals. Most have qualified pharmacists ready to help. Find pharmacies in your terminal.

In the case of emergencies, Abu Dhabi International Airport is served by a local hospital and an ambulance is always at hand. Approach any member of airport staff and they will alert the medical team immediately.

 Abu Dhabi Cargo Company (ADCC) is the cargo handling company at all of ADAC’s airports. Abu Dhabi International Airport, upon approval, grants permission for site visits and photography/videography of certain areas of the airport.

Depending on the intended reason for photography/videography, interested journalists and photographers need to provide the following documents:

1. Official letter from company, stating reason for photography/videography request and date of filming
2. Document stating the specific areas requested to visit
3. Colored valid passport copy of all attending personnel including valid UAE Visa page/ entry stamp (in the case that visa is issued from Dubai, the serial number needs to be obtained from the immigration department in Dubai)
4. Colored passport size photos for all attending personnel
5. List of all equipment (camera, tripod, lenses e.t.c) stating brand, serial number and type of equipment.

The documents should be handed over personally by the intended PRO of the company to Abu Dhabi Airports Company Public Relations Manager or Media Manager.

The airport reserves the right to grant permission at its disposal.

There are no less than eight world class lounges at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Whether you are looking for somewhere comfortable to unwind before your flight, take a refreshing shower or need to catch up on business, there are plenty of options - regardless of your airline, class of travel or the terminal you’re flying from.

If you are flying First or Business Class, you will receive a lounge invitation upon check-in. If you’re flying Economy Class, you can still access any of the lounges at competitive rates.

Abu Dhabi International Airport advises that you arrive two to 3 hours before the departure time indicated on your air ticket, although you should always check your airline’s website or contact them directly to confirm as this time varies from airline to airline.

First Class, Business Class and private chartered flight passengers may have special time allowances before a flight, and passengers who have checked in online will need even less time at the airport. Please confirm with your airline.

The airport is 38 km (21 miles) south east of Abu Dhabi city. Three highways lead from the city centre to the airport: Khaleej Al Arabi (road number 30), Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum Street (road number 2), and Salam Street (road number 8). These highways all merge into one main highway which leads directly to Abu Dhabi International Airport.

All car rental offices are open 24 hours a day. They are located in Skypark parking, opposite Terminal 3, just a short walk from Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.

You are welcome to accompany passengers throughout any areas of the airport before the first security check point. You will find cafés and restaurants in the Departures and Arrivals areas of each of the terminals.

Cash and Visa and MasterCard credit cards are accepted.

It’s important that you inform the parking staff in advance that your stay may exceed 60 days. Otherwise, your vehicle will be reported to the Police and may be at risk of being towed away at your expense.

Costs vary by destination and according to the taxi company. Most metered taxis charge around AED 70 for a 30 to 35 minute journey (the journey to Dubai is around 70 to 90 minutes depending on traffic). Al Ghazal Taxis runs fixed-rate system. Reservations are not required for taxi services originating from Abu Dhabi International Airport. Rate guidelines for taxi services are also posted on the information kiosks at the taxi waiting areas.

Please check with your hotel directly to find out whether they offer courtesy shuttle transportation to and from the airport. The hotel shuttle pick-up area is at the lower curbside and drop-off areas outside the terminal Departures area.

Walking between the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 buildings at Abu Dhabi International Airport should not take you more than 20 minutes, as these two terminals are adjacent to each other.

Terminal 2 is approximately 2km from Terminal 1. A regular inter-terminal shuttle bus operates every 15-20 minutes.

Yes. In order to ensure the highest levels of passenger security, each terminal has a security check area at each point of entry.

Yes. At Abu Dhabi International Airport we are committed to taking care of the security of all of our travellers and guests to the airport and, much like most international airports, we operate security checks upon entry of the airport and another before the departure gates.

Receiving flight status SMSes is free for UAE mobile subscribers.

If you have signed up track your flight departure, you will only receive an alert if departure is delayed by more than 30 minutes.   If the revised departure time is delayed by a further 30 minutes, you will again be notified and so on.

Once you have registered to receive alerts for a flight, you cannot unsubscribe.   However, you will not receive further messages after the entire journey is complete.

The messages are only available in English.

SMS alerts will only be sent to you for the flights you requested, and your contact details will not be used for any other purposes.

All UAE mobile subscribers’ phones are able to receive flight status SMS messages. Non-UAE mobile subscribers will not receive SMS alerts but can sign up for email alerts instead.
