Airport Check-in Guidelines
You should allow plenty of time for the check-in process.
Check-in usually starts at least four hours before flight departure for Etihad and three hours before flight departure for all other Airlines and closes one hour before flight departure. However, this may vary from airline to airline. Ensure that you check the instructions on your ticket or consult your travel agent or airline website. If in doubt, call your airline directly.
Please be ready with your valid passport, air ticket or booking confirmation and visa for your destination country (if applicable), before proceeding to the check-in counter.
Once you have checked in, you can head for security check and passport control and enjoy some duty-free shopping, grab a bite to eat or relax in one of the airport lounges before heading to your boarding gate once your flight is called.
Online and remote check-in
Many airlines offer online check-in, allowing you to print out your own boarding pass and select your own seat 24 hours before your flight. This can save you time at the airport, as all you will need to do is go to the Bag Drop counter. Make sure you check your airline’s website well in advance.
Abu Dhabi International Airport also offers three remote check-in options allowing you to check your bags in up to 24 hours before you arrive at the airport.
