Airport information
Long transit? Or perhaps you are stopping over in Abu Dhabi for business or leisure? There are several relaxing options to pass the time in the airport or pop out and explore the city.
International connections
Follow these guidelines to make catching a connecting flight easy and stress-free.
After disembarking your plane, if your luggage is checked all the way through to your next destination, simply follow the signs to the Transit Desk.
If you need to collect your luggage, proceed to the Baggage Hall and then pass through Immigration and Customs. You will then need to go to the Departures area of the correct terminal for the airline with which you are travelling. Find out which terminal to go to.
Moving between terminals
If you need to go to another terminal to catch your next flight, it should not take you more than 20 minutes as all three terminals are adjacent to each other.
Terminal 2 is approximately 2km from Terminal 1. You will need to go through security again if you are moving between terminals.
Airport hotels
If you have got a lot of time between flights, you can check into one of the convenient airport hotels.
Abu Dhabi Airport Hotel is located on level 1 in Terminal 1 at International Departures (turn right after Passport / Security Control). Opt for a Solo room if you are a single guest who needs a power nap or a Double Plus room if you want some more space.
Premier Inn Hotel has direct access to Terminals 1 and 3 via the Skypark retail corridor. When arriving by air, exit the terminal building and cross the pedestrian crossing. The hotel is situated next to the Skypark building opposite the main terminal. Relax by the pool, workout in the gym or enjoy the free Wi-Fi.
Luggage storage
Passengers in transit can securely store their luggage at the baggage wrapping facility at the departures level if they are leaving the airport to explore Abu Dhabi.
Things to do while in transit
Whether you are staying in the airport or stepping out to explore the incredible sights of the city, there is no shortage of activities to keep you busy.
