Abu Dhabi Airports welcomed the new eased travel measures at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) where PCR test service upon arrival is now optional for travelers coming to the emirate. The PCR Test facility at AUH remains available in the same location as an optional service at AED 40 for passengers who would like to activate their green pass on Al Hosn App, which is mandatory to enter public places, tourist attractions, and other facilities in Abu Dhabi.

Airport Check-in Guidelines

You should allow plenty of time for the check-in process.

Check-in usually starts at least four hours before flight departure for Etihad and three hours before flight departure for all other airlines, and closes one hour before flight departure. However, this may vary from airline to airline. Ensure that you check the instructions on your ticket or consult your travel agent or airline website. If in doubt, call your airline directly.

For your safety and convenience, we assign each flight an Individual check-in time.Minimize your time in queues by arriving at the Smart Check-In Time for your flight.  You will find your flight’s Smart Check-In time on our Flight Status page here:

Please ensure you have a valid passport, air ticket or booking confirmation and visa for your destination country (if applicable), before proceeding to the check-in counter.

Once you have checked in and passed through security check and passport control, you can enjoy some duty-free shoppinggrab a bite to eat or in one of the airport lounges before heading to your boarding gate once your flight is called.

Online and remote check-in

Many airlines offer online check-in, allowing you to print out your own boarding pass and select your own seat 24 hours before your flight. This can save you time at the airport, as all you will need to do is go to the Bag Drop counter.

Abu Dhabi International Airport also offers remote check-in options for some airlines, allowing you to check your bags in up to 24 hours before you arrive at the airport.
