The Art of Travel

To encourage the rising local art scene in Abu Dhabi and to inspire innovation in the field of travel, The Institut Français, the cultural department of the French Embassy, JCDecaux, BB Media and Abu Dhabi Airports recently collaborated to host a local art competition. Participants were invited to create their own interpretations to answer the question ‘How will we travel in the future?’.

Children as young as 6 years entered the contest. The 9 winners were announced across three categories- children, teenagers and adults. All the winners were invited for the opening ceremony on Bastille Day, which falls on 14 July. The winners will also be recognized at an awards ceremony on 6 November 2021, which will be held at EXPO 2020.

We are proud to say that the winners’ artworks are displayed across 70 advertising billboards throughout Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH), transforming the airport into a first-of-its-kind open-air museum.
