Skypark marks official launch with special 3-month introductory rate at Abu Dhabi Airport

19 December, 2009

Gulf region’s only car parking specialist provider already receiving award nominations for innovation and service.

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 19 December 2009: Coinciding with its official launch this week, Skypark – the region’s first dedicated car parking services brand, from Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) – has announced it will be providing special introductory offers for customers pre-booking and paying for their parking requirements at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Customers looking to book must do so before 5 January 2010 but can book spaces up to 31 March 2010. Bookings are made by texting the word “Parking” to 6072 for Etisalat customers or to 9502 for Du subscribers and a tele-sales representative will call back within 24 hours to confirm the booking.

Having only introduced its state-of-the-art parking facility at the airport’s new Terminal 3 in October this year, Skypark has already received nominations for innovation at the recent Gulf Traffic Awards 2009 for its use of the latest technologies in parking services. These include: a ‘Car Finder’ tool, anti-theft Licence Plate Recognition technology, as well as the more obvious lighting indicators that allow drivers to spot available spaces from almost all areas of the car park.

Bader Al Rashedi, Head of Car Park & Transportation for ADAC, the parent company of the Skypark brand, said:
“In order to provide an optimal travelling experience to passengers and customers requiring parking facilities at Abu Dhabi International Airport, ADAC has launched the region’s first dedicated car parking service that couples advanced technologies and global standards to ensure a seamless customer experience.

“Parking facilities are often the first and last impressions passengers take away from Abu Dhabi International Airport and managing this core customer experience is central to Skypark’s business model.”

In related news, Skypark has also announced that future promotions will include tie-ins to frequent flyer or loyalty schemes, e-ticketing facilities, as well as ongoing upgrades and special offers linked to other business entities at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

About Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC):
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) is a public joint-stock company wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi Government. It was incorporated by Amiri Decree number 5, issued on 4th March 2006, to spearhead the development of the Emirate's aviation infrastructure.

In September 2006 ADAC took over responsibility for the operation and management of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain international Airports. In 2008, ADAC added Al Bateen private jet airport, formerly Al Bateen military airbase, and Sir Baniyas Island Airport to its portfolio. These airports all serve different segments of the marketplace and help contribute to Abu Dhabi’s development as a destination for both business and leisure tourism.

Currently under way is the large scale AED 25 (US $6.8) billion re-development and expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport designed to increase the overall capacity of the airport to more than 20 million passengers per year. As part of this redevelopment, a second runway and a third terminal have been completed. A new ATC tower and the Midfield Terminal Complex will complete the redevelopment within the next few years.
