Abu Dhabi Airports Company showcases the Gulf Region's first dedicated private jet airport at European exhibition

Al Bateen Executive Airport promoted to business aviation community at the European Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition in Geneva.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 13 May 2009: Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) is promoting Abu Dhabi's first luxury airport in the Gulf, Middle East and North Africa regions (MENA); dedicated solely to private jet to the international business aviation community at the European Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (EBACE); which is taking place in Geneva this week from 12-14 May 2009.

Al Bateen Executive Airport is the first and only exclusive luxury business jet airport in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The convenience of its location, in the heart of the city centre, makes it very attractive for busy business travelers' in the capital city and an ideal access point for the rest of business travelers' in the GCC and MENA regions.

The airport is already accepting aircraft, providing full Fixed Based Operator services (FBO) and upgraded facilities at the new terminal including aircraft parking and maintenance spaces for more than 50 aircrafts. The airport is currently in final stages of undergoing UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) certification.

The luxurious airport which is being designed to be of the highest standards will also feature four premium lounges, first-class catering, quick and efficient turnaround times and the highest quality of passenger services.

In this regard, Mohammed Al Bulooki, Vice President of Airline Marketing and Aeronautical Revenue at ADAC, stated: "ADAC is delighted to showcase this premium facility for business jets at European Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition. ADAC is in the process of upgrading its facilities to the tune of AED 200 million in order to meet the increasing needs of the private and business jet market within the region. Existing operators, already operating out of the airport, include Falcon Aviation and Prestige Jet, two of a number of corporate jet companies that are meeting the increase in demand for private aviation as they continue to add aircraft to their existing fleet.

Future developments at the airport include securing additional airport land to create new airside, landside, and facility space. ADAC will manage the AED 200million (USD$55m) investment to upgrade the airfield, which will include the acquiring of new equipment, improvements to the terminal as well as landside access and parking.
